Providing advanced pressure redistribution and microclimate control, the Drive Medical Med-Aire Assure alternating pressure and low air loss mattress system is an active mattress replacement designed to help prevent, treat, and heal pressure ulcers in home-care and long-term care settings. The system combines alternating pressure therapy with low air loss to reduce shear and friction while improving patient comfort. The control unit offers 10-minute alternating cycles and can also be used in static mode, with adjustable patient weight settings to support optimal immersion and compliance. For added safety, audible and visual alarms alert when air pressure is low. The mattress system includes 17 individual air cells over a 3″ foam base to provide added protection during a power outage, along with a fluid-resistant, low-shear, vapor-permeable quilted nylon cover to help protect skin from moisture and friction.
